The parent firm of China-based Alcatel OneTouch smartphone brand, TCL has launched its Pride T500L handset in India. The company revealed that the smartphone will be exclusively available for sale on Snapdeal at a price of Rs. 10,499 only in White color variant.
The significant feature of the device is its iris scanner or retina scanner that enables the TCL Pride 500L to scan the user’s retina with the help of the camera placed upfront, to unlock the device. Furthermore, TCL claims that it is the first handheld device with iris scanner to be launched in India, while, screen panel major, ViewSonic revealed its V55 smartphone back in 2014, which boasts an iris scanner.
Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop, the 4G LTE supportable dual-SIM handset is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor coupled with a 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be upgraded by using a microSD card. The smartphone is fueled with a 3050 mAh of battery.
The handset is fronted with a 5-inch full-HD 1080p IPS display, with an 8-megapixel fixed focus front camera (iris scanner). While, the back panel of the phone flaunts a 13-megapixel of primary image snapper which comes with EIS (electronic image stabilisation), autofocus, and LED flash.
Apart from 4G LTE support, the TCL Pride 500L supports several standard connectivity options such as 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. The listing also confirms that the handset is also available in single-SIM variant as well, while the dual SIM supports 4G LTE in both of the slots.
