After the curved edge display, the South Korean electronics major, Samsung is planning to make smartphones with the foldable display. If rumours surfacing the internet are to be believed then the foldable smartphone will launch in January 2016. It also suggests that the firm has been testing the smartphone with foldable screen for over couple of years.
According to China’s GforGames, Samsung has been working on the foldable smartphones under the name of Project Valley. In addition, the South Korean smartphone maker has been aggressively testing the two different Qualcomm chipsets for the foldable smartphone — Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 and Snapdragon 820. it is to be noted that Qualcomm hasn’t officially announced Snapdragon 820 processor.
Samsung will use Snapdragon 820 in next year’s flagship models. Further testing will determine whether Samsung will use these processors or not. Furthermore, GforGames stated that the handset will boast 3GB of RAM to support flawless multitasking.
Samsung struck the world with the bolt of lightning when it unveiled its Galaxy 6 edge. Everyone praised the concept after getting bored with similar designs over past several years. Now, the rumour of foldable smartphone itself is very inspiring and jaw dropping. But it is a rumour as of now and we need to wait to see whether Samsung will unveil foldable smartphone or not.
