Expanding the Tizen-based Z series, Samsung on Wednesday unveiled its second smartphone, Samsung Z3, skipping the Z2 in the lineup. The handset will be available on sale at a price of Rs. 8,490, exclusively at the Indian online retail giant, Snapdeal, probably starting on October 21.
The Samsung Z3 comes in black and silver color variants, running on Samsung’s own, Tizen OS v2.4 powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor that is coupled with 1GB of RAM. The South Korean giant has provided an 8GB of internal storage to the device that can be expanded by using a microSD card, up to 128GB.
Samsung trying to attract the customers by a 5-inch HD display and a 5-megapixel of selfie shooter that is featured with several selfie-enhancing options like ‘Automatic Selfie’ and ‘Beauty Mode’, fronted to the device. In addition, it also sports an 8-megapixel of primary photography tool, which is featured with bright f2..2 Lens.
The handset is fueled with a 2600 mAh of battery that delivers standby time up to 33 hours with less than 10% of remaining charge, thanks to its ‘Ultra Power Saving Mode’.
The Samsung Z3 comes with various connectivity options including 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. Moreover, the ‘My Galaxy’ app comes pre-installed on the smartphone that provides India-centric services, content, local deals to the users. Apart from the My Galaxy app, Mix Radio, designed by Samsung itself is preloaded to the device that enables the users to enjoy up to 35 million songs, including 10 genres of Indian Music.
The Tizen OS is featured with Andriod looking icons and a swipe down notification panel. It also boasts a Favourites app feature that holds eight most running apps in two rows. There is a Tizen app store provided by the developers, however, the most common apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Google aren’t available. But thanks to integrated Android app support, the smartphone runs these apps flawlessly. Samsung Group hasn’t announced any future updates regarding other app stores to the OS.
J.K. Shin, CEO and head of IT & Mobile business, Samsung Electronics commented regarding the new release that the features provided to the smartphone will allow consumers to capitalize the on-growing Tizen OS and can make the most out of their personal experience on the new OS.
The manufacturer has shown several improvements to their Tizen-based smartphone, as compared to its predecessor, Samsung Z1, such as Ultra Saving Mode, Automatic Selfie and Beauty Mode, which is likely to provide a better selfie shooting experience with an extended battery life.
