After the launch of Reliance Jio 4G services for its employees, the cutting edge network has now announced the launch of its first 4G enabled smartphone service under the LYF brand. The first smartphone in the series is called ‘LYF Earth 1’.
Around 70,000 of Reliance employees in India got a benefit of the 4G services, in order to fix any of the glitches and bugs found before the commercial launch. Jio 4G’s aim is to offer seamless 4G connectivity without having to fall back on 2G or 3G services. With this you can switch your mobile data connection over the LTE network enabling high-quality video calls, up to 7-way conference calls and 4-way video conferences. Since, all communication will be through internet data, the concept of roaming will soon become a thing of past.
The LYF Earth 1 will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. The smartphone has got a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset along with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB expandable internal storage, for a hassle free high-end gaming experience. In the camera section, LYF Earth 1 has a 5MP front-facing camera and a 13MP rear camera for imaging. In addition, there is a smaller 2MP camera, for depth sensing. The dual camera in the rear is the phone’s USP.
The LYF Earth 1 has got a 5.5-inch Full HD and a pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone weighing 162 gms has a dual Sim slot(micro and nano). The phone has got a battery of 3500mAh battery and will be available only in white color.
Reliance Jio also plans to offer its data services at an affordable price ranging from Rs 300 to 500 monthly. In a move towards initiating its Jio services, Reliance last year in April launched its first mobile application, ‘Jio Chat’ that integrates chat, voice, video calling, conferencing, file sharing, and photo sharing.
The price and launch date of Reliance Earth LYF 1 are yet to be announced.
