The Chinese smartphone manufacturing startup, Oppo Mobiles has unveiled its upgraded variant of Oppo R5 smartphone, Oppo R5s.
Oppo R5s also features a similar display, camera and processor as it was earlier found in Oppo R5. The new handset in fronted with a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920p) AMOLED display with 1080×1920 pixels of resolution and a 5-megapixel in front with 83-degree wide angle lens above the display panel.
Meanwhile, a 13-megapixel chief image shooter is placed at the back with Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor. It boasts a 2,000mAh of battery, under the hood that is featured with Oppo’s VOOC charging technology to get a 75% charge in 30 minutes
The smartphone runs on Color OS 2.0, based on Android 4.4 KitKat that is supported by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with a 3 GB of RAM. As compared to 2GB RAM in Oppo R5, the Oppo R5s has received an upgrade on RAM and storage capacity as well. It sports 32 GB of onboard storage, which was only 16 GB in the R5 model. However, the manufacturer doesn’t provide expandability options, again..
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The Oppo R5s measures 148.9×74.5×4.85mm and weighs 155 gram.
The previously launched Oppo R5 was the first smartphone with a rotating camera module, also it was the world’s slimmest mobile that is only 4.85mm thick. The device was light-weight as it also weighs 155g.
However, this slimness had its cost, as it does not even have the space to hold a 3.5mm audio jack. In addition to it, the company had provided users with a headphone that uses the microUSB port to connect.
