OnePlus X - The TeCake

Finally, a good news for all the OnePlus X hopefuls waiting for an invite. On Thursday, OnePlus announced that it will be making OnePlus X completely invite-free specifically in regions other than India. However, OnePlus India confirmed that the invite-free sale of OnePlus X smartphone will commence soon in the country.

“We’re extremely excited to be making the OnePlus X invite-free more quickly this time around,” Carl Pei, OnePlus Co-Founder confirmed the news on the company’s forum.

According to Pei, with every smartphone launch, OnePlus is learning about handling the demands and expectations of consumers. He also stressed that it is company’s strategy to launch their products with “invite system”, thereby helping it scale operations while at the same time engaging the community with the new product. Pei gave an example of how OnePlus 2 went invite-free in roughly four months after its release and the OnePlus X has gone invite-free in even lesser time.

Globally, the OnePlus X was available to consumers without invites every Tuesday. However, this Tuesday sale doesn’t apply to Indian customers who have to depend on a country-specific invite. Carl Pei also announced the revised price of OnePlus Power Bank, which is going to cost a little more for the users. The OnePlus Power will now be available at $19 instead of $14.99. The reason Pei gave for the rise in price is the “increased costs in both the manufacturing and operations of the Power Bank”. From next month, the new price will come into effect.
