The Redmond giant has sent media invites for an event holding on January 7 at New Delhi. It is expected that Microsoft is going to launch its Surface Pro 4 tablet at the event, also, earlier this year, Satya Nadela, CEO of the company has announced during his trip to India that the device will be launched in the first week of January.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 flaunts a 12.3-inch PixelTouch display with 2736×1824 pixel of resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 0.4 mm thick Gorilla Glass 4 protection, however, increasing the display size didn’t affect the tablet size, it is still not larger than 12-inch Surface Pro 3, as the manufacturer has reduced the bezel width. It comes with a new stylus too. The company called its new stylus the Surface Pen, and it comes with an eraser. The new Surface Pen can detect 1,024 points of pressure. You click the tip of the pen and the Surface Pro 4 opens Microsoft OneNote. The Pen also comes with Cortana integration.

The users can select the processor from the wide range of Intel’s 6th-generation Core processors, from Core M3 for the base model, to Core i5 and Core i7 options. These configurations are powered by Intel HD Graphics 515, Intel HD Graphics 520, and Intel Iris Graphics respectively.

Citing the reports received from the worldwide launch, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tablet is 30 percent faster than its previous generation tablet, Surface Pro 3, while, it was seen that it was performing 50 percent faster than Apple Macbook Air. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM (4GB base model), and up to a whopping 1TB of SSD storage (starts at 128GB). It comes with a full-size USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, a 3.5-mm headset jack, a Mini DisplayPort, a Type Cover port, and SurfaceConnect port.

The company claims that their new tablet delivers up to 9 hours of battery backup. In addition, it sports  an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Out-of-the-box, the Surface Pro 4 comes with the Surface Pen, while, the users have to additionally purchase the Surface Pro 4 Type Cover at $129.99 (~Rs. 8,600). Also, if you want to enjoy the keyboard experience, the Fingerprint Reader keyboard is available at $159.99 (~Rs. 10,600).

Including other additional ports and sensors,  the Surface Dock is available for sale at $199.99 (~Rs. 13,200) to get 2 Mini DisplayPorts, 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, 4 USB 3.0 ports, and 1 Audio out port.
