The Chinese mobile maker Lenovo launched the much awaited Vibe X2 smartphone. Since most phones nowadays resemble rectangular glass slabs, what is unique in this phone is its ‘multi-layered’ design with its edges revealing different colored layers stacked together. Lenovo launched it at an incredible price of Rs 19,999, and it will be available exclusively on Flipkart after 10th November.
Vibe X2 is powered by the latest MediaTek’s MT6595 2GHz 4G LTE True octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It features a 5 inch full HD IPS display with 1920 x 1080 resolution; comes with 32 GB of internal storage and a 2300 mAh battery. It has a 13 megapixels rear camera with LED flash, capable of capturing 1080p videos at 30fps and a 5 megapixels front camera.
The phone is very sleek with dimensions (68.6×7.27×140.2mm) making it conservative for single-handed use. It feels very light but sturdy in hand with just 120 grams in its shell. The capacitive touch navigation keys positioned below the display supports for quick navigation.
The sports metallic keys on the right edge are for volume control and power. The keys bear the same color as the layer they are placed on, have a brushed metallic finish and offer excellent tactile feedback. The much-needed salient feature is the support for both micro and nano Sim cards.
The Vibe X2 comes with a heavily customized version of Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It comes with six themes, each of which features a different set of icons, wallpapers, font style, sounds, and lock screen styles. However, the con here is the user cannot download or install new themes but can customize the existing ones.
The phone feels good in terms of value for the buck and will pose a threat to competitors like Huawei Honor 6 and the forthcoming OnePlus One and Xiaomi Mi 4 phones.Tags: Lenovo Vibe X2, smartphone, Vibe X2
