Hari Om Sai, co-founder of Lava Mobiles says, “the company has designed the phone for those consumers who want large screen experience from their phone, but can’t drill their pockets to buy an expensive one.”

The low budget smartphone boasts a 5 inch IPS display, however its FWVGA resolution may disappoint the users. It runs on Android’s KitKat flavour supported by a 1.2GHz quad core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, however only 2.38 GB is available for user. The device is featured with a 5 mega-pixel of primary camera with a BSI sensor and LED flash that features 1080p video recording, HDR, Panaroma, Auto-Focus; and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling.

The Iris Alfa is fueled with a powerful 2200 mAh of battery that may juice up the phone for 22.7 hours of talk time on a full charge. Moreover, Lava has provided Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor and Ambient Light Sensor to the device, which makes it more convenient to use. As far the design is concerned, the device looks much familiar with the Google Nexus 6. The handset boasts 141mm X 71.4mm X 9.2mm od dimensions and weighs 156 gram.
