Karbonn VR headset Quattro L52 and Titanium Mach Six

The Indian smartphone manufacturer, Karbonn Mobiles announced its VR headsets similar to the Google cardboard, along with two new smartphones, Quattro L52 and the Titanium Mach Six.

The VR headset will be available for free with every purchase of any of the mobile phone. Karbonn has priced the former at Rs. 8,720, while, the latter comes with a price tag of Rs. 7,450.

Commenting on the launch, Shashin Devsare, ED, Karbonn Mobiles said, “Virtual reality is the next big growth area in consumer technology. Karbonn’s VR glasses available with Karbonn Quattro L52 and Mach Six are an effort to address this challenge by bringing VR technology to consumers across economic spectrum at disruptive price points in the under 10K bracket. We are optimistic about the consumer response and are confident that Karbonn’s range of VR Smartphones will be a key cog in bringing the benefits of VR technology to the masses.”

The Karbonn Quattro L52 is a dual-SIM smartphone that comes in two color variants. It flaunts a 5-inch display with HD resolution that also has a 2.5D curved cover glass, placed with 5-megapixel of user-facing camera. While, the smartphone is backed with an 8-megapixel of primary camera.

Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the smartphone is backed with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor which is paired up with 2GB of RAM; and 16GB of internal storage with an expandability option via a microSD card. The Karbonn Quattro L52 is fueled with a 2250 mAh of battery.

Meanwhile, the Karbonn Titanium Mach Six, the cheaper model comes with a larger 6-inch HD display fronted with a smaller webcam of 3.2-megapixel. While, it features the same 8-megapixel of rear camera. This smartphone also runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, supported by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor that is coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Titanium Mach Six features a 3,300mAh battery, dual-SIM support, and 3G connectivity.

The VR headset, offered with the smartphones, is made out of ABS Plastic Fibre that can offer a “life-like viewing experience”. The company claims that the headset, paired with the pre-installed VR app in the smartphone, will provide a theatre like  experience, thanks to its bio-convex lenses.
