Following footsteps of Vodafone, the Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel is also offering discounts on a purchase of latest iPhones up to Rs. 15,000 on the monthly bills over a period of 12 months.
Airtel has reported that the company offering to the new and existing postpaid customers, starting from Friday via its 235 retail stores around the country. In addition, it announced that out of 235 retail stores, 57 will stay open all night for the customers who are eagerly waiting for the device.
The firm is offering free 4G data over 12 months of duration that can save up to Rs. 15,000 on the monthly bill for iPhones.
Srini Gopalan, Director – Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel said that the company is very excited to offer the freebies with the latest iPhones, which is ‘the most iconic developments in technology this year’, at 235 different retail stores around the country. As the demand and curiosity are getting a hike in the Indian tech geeks, Airtel expects that the new iPhone users will have a ‘world-class experience’ with their 4G plans.
Previously, Vodafone has announced that is offering ‘six months of free data’ to its new or old postpaid users on the pre-ordering of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The offer is valid only if customers books their new handset on Amazon.in and from the seller, “Cloudtail’. Also, the free data will be revoked if the user returns the smartphone.
The new flagship smartphones are available for pre-bookings at all major retail stores across the country. The prices for pre-order for the device starts from Rs. 62,000, which is tagged for the lowest storage variant, 16GB of iPhone 6s, meanwhile, consumers can pre-order the other variants including iPhone 6s with 64GB and 128GB of storage at a price of Rs. 72,000 and Rs. 82,000, respectively.
Also, the iPhone 6s Plus can be booked in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB of storage options at a price of Rs. 72,000, Rs. 82000 and Rs. 92,000, respectively. However, when asked about the official prices, the firm said that they will reveal it very soon.
The current iPhone 6s users reported that TouchID button is hot to touch. “This morning, when I woke up, the home button was burning hot and the screen is just black,” says one Twitter user. “I went to bed with it working just fine last night, plugged it in to charge, and now it won’t work. Nothing else is hot, not even the charging port, just the home button is on fire. I have had the phone unplugged for an hour and the button is still on fire.”
Ingram Micro India Pvt. Ltd, a technology distributor, providing sales, marketing and logistics services for the IT industry worldwide, reported that the sale for new iPhones will commence on 12:01 AM IST, October 16 in over 2,500 retail locations across India. The launch event will be held at over 80 cities across India.
A senior executive with a leading mobile retail brand said, “Except for the iPhone 6 16GB, the rest of the numbers are relevant. The iPhone 6 16GB is selling for around Rs 48500. Prices for the new phones are upward. The trend is similar to a commodity and are fluctuating.”
