Bollywood actress Vidya Balan proved herself in each and every movie. Whether it is “No One Kill Jessica” or “Kahaani”, she portrayed her roles well. She is among the few actresses who acted brilliantly in both parallel and mainstream movies. The brilliant diva has received 55 Awards, including one National Film Award.
In 2012, the talented starlet’s career touched sky after the release of Milan Luthria’s “Dirty Picture”. Apart from winning audience and critic’s heart, the film received very prestigious National Award of that year also. She was solo bankable heroine of that year too. In the end of the year she tied knot with her long time boyfriend Sidharth Roy Kapur.
After marriage her three films “Ghanchakkar”, “Shaadi ke Side Effects” and “Bobby Jaasoos” released which did not perform as per expectation. Her next film “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” opposite Emraan Hashmi will hit theatres this Friday.
In a recent interview, the 37-year-old actress stated that marriage can’t bring full stop to your career. In Bollywood, the norm is that actress’ career end after marriage. This is now slowly being subverted with several married actresses are making comebacks like Sri Devi with “English Vinglish” and Kajol with “We Are Family”, “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” actress said.
She added, “I remember so many people asking me if was sure I wanted to marry when I was peak of my career, but I was very sure about Sidharth Roy Kapoor and I wanted to marry him. “But at the same time, I don’t want anyone to say that I was slowing down or losing interest in my career. And then my films stop doing well. I was shattered when Ghanchakkar flopped. When Shaadi Ke Side Effects also did not work, for a brief moment I did question ki maine shaadi karli to uski wajah se are my films flopping?” But she is expecting that “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” will do at the box office.
The film is slated to release on June 12. Vidya Balan is playing a role of a distressed housewife in the movie who falls in love with Emraan Hashmi (the hero of the film).
