Hawaizaasa-poster-tecake

Hawaizaada has seen a slow start at the box office since it had a competition of two other movies (Khamoshiyaan and Rahasyaa) along with it.

The film directed by Vibhu Puri stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Pallavi Sharda, Mithun Chakraborty, Naman Jain, Jayant Kripalani in important roles. Ayushmaan Khurrana has yet again given his audience something different from his previous movies- Nautanki Saala, Vicky Donor, and Bewakoofian.

The story is about a man who is way more talented than he is accredited for. One day he gets drunk and thrown out of his house and then takes shelter at Mithun Chakraborty’s house. He then proceeds to fight the Britishers, who are trying to suppress his talent, for his work.

What did not work for the film was the fact that the movie was really slow in moving the story forward. There was too much patriotism in the movie that made no sense at all for anyone. Britishers apparently seemed to have no business other than trying to make life a hell for the protagonist. There were ‘crazy Indians’ shouting Britishers in about a gap of every two minutes. Also, the movie was stretched over two and a half hours that seemed like a torture.

What did work for the film were its visual effects. Ayushmaan Khurrana delivered his acting in such a convincing manner that he cannot be blamed for the failure of the movie. The film did bring out some real aspects and have challenged the change in the history that there was someone before the Wright Brothers, that someone being an Indian who soared the skies before the Wright Brothers.

The vague and stretched ending of the film may have proven to be the reason for which the people are calling it a bit slow. But even so, the movie is a good pick for people with Sci-fi taste and also for those with heightened patriotism traits.
