Sushant Singh Rajput’s film ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’ is in theaters now. The whole B-town is abuzz with excitement since this movie presents Sushant in an all new, never been seen before role of his career. Apart from that, the trailers have received a great response from the audience and had everyone was waiting in anticipation for the release.
Directed by the National Award winning director Dikar Banerjee, this movie is a treat for all the mystery lovers and has been contemplated to be holding some similarities to Sherlock Holmes. The film is said to be based on the fictional character, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi created by the Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.
The film will have Sushant Singh Rajput, Anand Tiwari and Swastika Mukherjee in major roles. Sushant has worked very hard for the film and as we know, the perfectionist he is, has essayed many verses and watched a lot of films before he started for the role. He was the first choice as the hero of the film.
“We needed a young rising star who was a heartthrob. We were looking for a youthful and absolutely different Byomkesh, someone who was just out of college, arrogant but full of innocence. He is a man of contrasts and at the same time has a fantastic intellect,” the director said when asked about Sushant as a choice for DBB.
This film is supposed to be India’s first detective thriller that will showcase equal archenemies and a great deal of respect for each other. Much like Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty in Indianized version.
But rest things assured, this movie is full of promises of providing a great taste to the Indian audience of refreshment from those same old predictable love dramas.
