Detective Byomkesh Bakshy has been on a walk on thin ice in box offices due to its unfortunate opening with Fast and Furious 7. Even with that happening, DBB has managed to earn over 4 crores on its opening day collections. This movie has gotten a critical acclaim and is being appreciated for its refreshing plotline with respect to other Bollywood releases along with the impeccable performances by the actors.
DBB is a story of Byomkesh, an arrogant yet intellectual young man, who sets out to solve the mystery of a murder that has been assigned to him. Through various twists and turns he is finally been able to solve it and in the end emerges as an adulated person who is better and far more efficient in solving cases than previously.
Although taking FF7 out of the equation, DBB was expected to be making 15-18 crores on its opening day, but still it has managed to score a 4.2 plus crore mark in India and is expected to perform well in the coming days. Whereas it’s collection in New Zealand has been 0.015 crores and that in Australia has been 0.067 crores. DBB had a tough battle with FF7 and has been able to survive even if it meant, through the mystery lovers or some of those who couldn’t get the tickets to FF7 and had some time and money to spend.
DBB has been a satiating treat for mystery and thriller lover to satiate their longing for a nip of good ol’ movie with a tangy twist and exemplary performances. It is bound to come out of the shadows of FF7 even if it takes some more days.
If we are to comment, with the increasing collection for our engineering dropout, Sushant Singh Rajput who has impressed us with all his movies, we are expecting better results in the upcoming days.
