PK released in 4600 screens across the China on 22nd May 2015 grossed Rs. 100 which is great and became the first Bollywood movie to achieve such a huge feat in just 16 days.
Aamir starrer PK premiered in Shanghai on May 13th and promoted by the lead actor Aamir Khan with its director Raj Kumar Hirani. The producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra was also present there. The team spent three days in touring the movie and promoting it. The popularity of 3 Idiots conceptualized the idea to promote the film, and its result is crystal clear.
PK released on December last year, collected total Rs. 615 crore globally, breaking Khan’s own record of Dhoom 3, total earning of Rs. 540 crores at home and in overseas.
The director of the movie Rajkumar Hirani told to a leading news agency, “I had never imagined that PK would be received so lovingly in China. A rating of 8.8 and 46screen release and business as huge as of North America. It’s further my belief that the content is king”.
Aamir played role of an alien in the movie along with Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh who were also seen in pivotal roles. The movies accomplished gives us testimony that common social theme cinema can fetch acclamation in foreign countries also.
